Founder's Letter
A personal note on why Pulsyn exists.
Hi, I'm James Hoffmann. I'm 21, a new dad, and the solo founder of Pulsyn. I started building Rune 1 after years of wearables that asked me to trade my health data for basic insights.
Privacy isn't a feature to me; it's the foundation. Your ring should keep your data on-device, do the heavy lifting locally, and never send anything out unless you decide to share.
I believe AI should help people understand themselves, not take their jobs or exploit their data. Pulsyn exists to build a calm, human-first kind of intelligence - the kind you can trust with your body.

What We Believe
These are the non-negotiables that shape every decision we make.
Privacy as a Right
Your biometrics stay on your ring by default. No background uploads, no hidden analytics, no data brokerage. You choose if anything ever leaves the device.
AI for Humans
AI should make you more capable, not replace you. We use it for clear, practical insights that respect your time and agency.
Hardware with Soul
Built to feel beautiful and durable, not disposable. Designed to last and priced to be accessible - no subscription gates.
Open by Default
We explain what we collect (nothing by default), what runs on-device, and why. Transparency is part of trust.

James Hoffmann
Founder
“Health data should make you stronger, not make you a product.”
James is a 21-year-old solo founder raising a newborn daughter while building Pulsyn. After seeing wearable companies turn biometrics into a business model, he committed to a different path: on-device intelligence, no subscriptions, and privacy as a default, not a setting.
